Knee Aspirations

Knee aspirations are medical procedures commonly performed to relieve discomfort or swelling in the knee joint. During this minimally invasive procedure, a thin needle is carefully inserted into the knee to remove excess fluid. This fluid, often causing pain or stiffness, can be analyzed to help diagnose the underlying cause of the knee issues. The knee can also be aspirated to check for the presence of infections inside the knee. Knee aspirations are typically done in an outpatient setting, and patients may experience some relief from symptoms following the procedure. This simple yet effective intervention is aimed at improving knee comfort and aiding in the diagnosis of potential underlying conditions.
